The first time I opened the program I was able to create a finished product in less than 5 min. Could not be any easier to use and seems to offer more customization than I will likely ever use.

Nate Rowley used the XML Flash Slideshow v4 to provide engaging media galleries and educational video content when a Fly Fishing Outfitter was looking to expand their online presence. Nate enthusiastically writes:
Having easy to use but intriguing video and Flash content is something I was happy to put into my company website when I was given the task of redesigning and building it. I searched for weeks for a video player and was happy to find the XML Flash Slideshow v4 for Dreamweaver from DWUser and it was the best thing for our website. The player can be completely customized, or one can use templates that are intuitive and easy to use and configure. . . . The support staff at DWUser especially Mr. Drew O’Neill was exceptional. . . . I was overly impressed with the products from DWUser and even more impressed with Drew and DWUser support. I will continue to use their products as well as refer them to any of my IT buddies from college. Thank you DWUser and a special thank you to Drew. Good Customer Service is sometimes hard to find and that was not the case here. Again thank you.

At the end of last week, a major new update was released in beta to all XML Flash Slideshow v4 customers. The key focus of this update is new robust support for touchscreen devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets. With a couple of clicks, you can configure your existing slideshow code to automatically display a touch-optimized non-Flash presentation for these devices. Choose either an immersive fullscreen experience or a highly-customizable inline experience like the standard Flash-based player. For more control, use the drag-n-drop layout editor to customize the inline presentation in the same way the Flash-based presentation can be customized.
The touchscreen compatibility update is available in public beta to all registered XFS v4 users. Learn more and download now »
But that’s not all. There’s much more than iOS and Android support in this update:
- New visual Ken Burns effect editor – drag and drop “focus pins” on a photo to enable panning/zooming. Let’s you highlight desired portions of a photo with ease.
- Built-in Image Optimizer / Resizer – you’ll no longer need to pre-process your photos with Fireworks or Photoshop before adding them to a slideshow.
- Feedback panel – provide feedback about your product experience whenever a thought strikes you, using the new built-in feedback button in the bottom right.
- Automated Security Settings – In previous builds, previewing on a site for the first time often required configuring the Flash Player security settings. Necessary configuration updates are now automatically made, letting you create slideshows even faster.
Head on over and download the update to take advantage of the new tools and improvements. We look forward to your feedback!

The New York State Museum uses the XML Flash Slideshow v4 to enhance their online presence with engaging interactive media experiences.
NYSM’s Nicholas Lue gives details:
“XML Flash Slideshow 4 is the perfect solution for creating visually stunning flash content with very little effort. A vast library of templates along with the ability to be highly customizable make it a powerful tool to make any interactive look polished and seamless within the greater design. We found it extremely easy to develop many types of slideshows to either use as a navigation tool, tell a story or just show off pictures. One of our biggest interests for using this script was its Flickr integration and ability to incorporate voice-over audio.
The technical support is impeccable. Every question I’ve asked has been met with a timely, well-explained response. I highly recommend this tool to any web-developer or designer. The wow-factor vs. content creation time is well worth the cost.”

Happy XML Flash Slideshow v4 customer Chris Tanner writes:
This is so different from version 3 that I don’t know how you can call it an upgrade. This program has been totally redesigned from the ground up and it is all for the better. It is so much easier to use. I watched your quick start videos and was ready to go. . . . This program has also increased my efficiency on the websites I maintain. Where adding photos to the sites was a chore before (and the results were less than spectacular), it is an easy process now with version 4 and much quicker than ever with more pleasing presentations.

We’ve made a couple of updates to the supported external data formats this week. The latest release (build 209) enables easy integration of Flickr Collections via PHP. Flickr Collections, a feature of Pro Flickr accounts, allow you to create groups of Photosets. Your slideshows can now leverage these Collections to create entire multi-gallery slideshows dynamically.
Using this feature, you can create a collection in a Pro Flickr account, link it to a slideshow, and your client will be able to create and remove galleries within the slideshow at will — entirely from the Flickr interface. This configuration makes it easier for clients to manage their slideshows, and lessens your load as the designer/developer. Read more in the new Flickr Collection Integration tutorial »
